Colin has landed a role in the tv mini-series IMPACT.

The moon is knocked off course by an enormous meteor not only reaping havoc with its gravitational pull, but also putting it into a collision course with the Earth. In 45 days it will impact...

IMPACT was written by Michael Vickerman and directed by Mike Rohl.
Colin will play "David", the hard ass reporter who breaks the story that the earth is in serious trouble.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: After a massive meteor collides with our moon, disastrous abnormalities start happening on Earth – on one side of the planet, cars begin to hover over the ground as if in outer space, while on the other side, the Earth’s gravitational pull becomes so intense that the Eiffel Tower crumbles together under its own weight.

A team of international scientists realizes the horrifying truth: the meteor has knocked the moon out of its orbit and has hurled it on a collision course with the Earth. In 45 days, the Moon will crash into our planet. As with the total extinction of the dinosaurs through a meteor shower, history is about to repeat itself, this time with mankind...

The US has a plan, but finds no international support. The Europeans have another strategy, which the Americans don’t buy into. Now it is up to a small group of scientists on both sides of the pond to get the nations of the world to cooperate and act as one, before it will be too late...

Unique visuals and powerful human drama will bring this chilling story to life. Get ready to experience the dark side of the moon!

The Kick Start program is an initiative by the Directors Guild of Canada: BC and British Columbia Film, with the participation of Post Modern Sound, Finale Editworks & Western Post, to provide emerging filmmakers from British Columbia with a calling card film that will assist them in pursuing a directing career. Successful applicants will have demonstrated talent and imagination along with the requisite craft skills and ability to meet the challenges of directing.

The Kick Start program awards $20,000 plus post production assistance to five Directors each year for the production of a ten-minute dramatic film or video. The Directors complete their projects under the guidance of a mentor from the industry, who acts as a consultant and resource person to the production.

Applicants must be either a graduate from a post-secondary institution or a recognized film school, or possess equivalent experience in the film industry. In addition, projects must be completed within a year and have a maximum cash budget of $50,000.

Below are Colin's details from the Press Release

    Colin Cunningham – "Centigrade"
    Mentor: Martin Wood

Centigrade is about a man fighting for his life; fighting for survival. A claustrophobic punch to the face that traps its audience right along with the protagonist as we are taken hostage aboard this rolling nightmare, cutting through the middle of a desert, we are reminded of our own mortality, "karma", and perhaps even the possibility of Judgment Day.

    Directed By: Michael Rohl
Cast: Colin Cunningham, Benjamin Ratner, Madison Graie

Brian (Benjamin Ratner) is a spiritually minded "holistic mechanic" who has been diagnosing his client's psychological problems based on what needs repairing on their cars. Neither they nor his boss are impressed... When he's fired he heads off on a fishing trip with his best friend Michael (Colin Cunningham). Their fishing trip is soon cancelled when they discover an unmarked grave in the forest and, nearby, a key marked "PUMZACH." For Brian, discovering who's in the grave is a chance to make a difference in the world. When a waitress suggests they visit a shaman in Nevada, they head off on a seven-day road trip in search of the truth.

Nothing in Michael Rohl's feature debut is what it seems. Vancouver audiences will notice that Vancouver becomes San Francisco while Cache Creek and Ashcroft stand in for Nevada, yet cinematic pleasures are not always about verisimilitude. This is an engaging, quirky and remarkably well-crafted film which offers plenty of laughs and a few life-affirming tears.

    ** Da Vinci's City Hall - Cancelled **

CBC Television has cancelled Da Vinci's City Hall, the prime-time drama about politics at Vancouver city hall – inspired by the work of former Vancouver mayor Larry Campbell. The program had begun as the highly rated Da Vinci's Inquest, featuring crusading coroner Dominic Da Vinci, again based on Campbell's experiences. The gritty drama began on CBC in the late 1990s, winning over audiences and critics – garnering numerous awards and is now seen in syndication in other countries. But when the Da Vinci TV show followed Campbell's career from the coroner's office to city hall, not enough viewers followed suit. Campbell ran in and won the 2002 mayoralty race in Vancouver, leading the left-wing COPE party to a sweeping victory, with many of his supporters wearing "Mayor Da Vinci" buttons. Campbell decided not to run for re-election in 2005, and was appointed to the Senate by then Prime minister Paul Martin. Da Vinci's City Hall will have its final air date Feb. 28. It is in its seventh season. CBC Television is also cancelling This is Wonderland and The Tournament. "These are three programs that CBC believed in and attached significant resources to," said CBC spokesperson Ruth-Ellen Soles. "Unfortunately the audiences for all three have been in steady decline and did not resonate with Canadians. These decisions are always difficult but they had to be made." Soles said Da Vinci's City Hall had been averaging 394,000 viewers, Wonderland 376,000 and The Tournament 268,000. Da Vinci had lost about 40 per cent of its audience from its high point a few years ago. There's no word yet on what programs may replace them.
